James Hou has over 20 years of experience in sales, training, administration, public relationship, government affairs and business management in transnational and domestic private companies.
Before joining AMA (China), Mr. Hou joined Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group, the largest Pharmaceutical Group in China, as assistant GM of the group and GM of Guangzhou Hairui Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd in 2009 . He has done an excellent job in operation and management such as talent development and introduction, new product R&D, building of production and quality management system and sales market promotion. The sales volume doubled for two consecutive years and turn loss into gain in May, 2010. Among the five subsidiaries of the group, Guangzhou Hairui is the first one to pass ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO17025 and OHSAS18001 and is recognized by Government Sectors as high-tech enterprise.
Before the experience in Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group, Mr. Hou had served for Xi'an Janssen, the subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson in China for sixteen years. He is among the first batch of sales representatives with medical background hired by multinational pharmaceutical company; In 16 years of service, he has served as sales manager, sales director in South China, public affairs director and special assistant to vice President. He has made brilliant achievement in sales management, training and development, administrative support, public relationship and government affairs management; As a member of Chief Executive's Committee, he once led, organized and implemented a series of organization restructure and important change programs, accumulating rich theory and practical experience.
Mr. Hou held a concurrent post as internal trainer of the company since 1990s, and has accumulated rich experience in training need analysis, program development and delivery, training assessment and follow-up. Later, he helped to build and manage Xi’an Janssen University, the training and development department of Xi’an-Janssen. Thus, the training management and people development system is improved and a batch of excellent sales and management talents is developed.
In December 2010, Mr. Hou was listed on the newly launched Top 99 executives in China’s Pharmaceutical Industry by Chinese Pharmaceutical Enterprises Association and Healthcare Executive.
Mr. Hou is able to deliver the course in a lively way. By giving systematic comments on case study and activities, he can explain the theory and instruct the tools in a clear logic. Besides, Mr. Hou is willing to share with participants about his personal experience and guide them to think form a new perspective. In particular, he is good at integrating what has learned in class with real practice.
Mr. Hou was graduated from Xi'an Medical University and then joined the faculty. He holds the title of Lecturer and gained Master of Medicine from Xi'an Medical University and MBA from the National University of Singapore.
