2013-06-09
On May 24th, the WIAL-East China Action Learning Experience Seminar was successfully held at the Sunshine Hotel in Shenzhen. Many well-known companies in the management and consulting, financial and other industries were invited to participate in the seminar. Jason Zheng, AMA’s Action Learning Director and Certified Action Learning Coach (ALC), made an introduction on Action Learning and acted as the ALC of the Demo.
The topic proposed by the Problem Presenter (PP) of the seminar on the day was concerned with companies’ business development. Focusing on the topic, the team had a 1-hour Action Learning workshop. Jason Zheng’s first intervention was specific to the opinion statement by the PP. While we require the team to strictly abide by the two main rules of Action Learning, each intervention by the coach shall also start with questions instead of giving direct instructions to team members about what you should or should not do. This can deliver the question-asking atmosphere to everyone.
In the subsequent Q&A section, Jason Zheng answered the questions of all participants in detail. Participants were focusing more on the Action Learning process and asked questions on details like timeliness and operability regarding the videos of successful cases played in the seminar. With regards to leadership development, one of the participants also asked whether companies should offer defined the development direction to help members who were selected to participate in the Action Learning program have more specific development. Jason Zheng was very happy that this key problem was identified by the participant. To make members become the talents required by organizations in a better way, efforts coordinated with a leadership model will be more effective.
