Action Learning in Winter
Peter Kao - AMA China’s President
Many companies keep fighting in the “chilly winter”. The entire environment requires extremely urgent change and innovation. At this moment, what we need is a pioneer or a core group? How shall we create and cultivate the winning leader and the winning team? How will the company achieve higher return by cultivating its leadership? AMA provides the answer: Real leadership is only refined by practice. Thereby, we need Action Learning - Action Learning Inside!
Action Learning – A Powerful New Tool to Cultivate Leaders, Solve Problems, Build Teams and Reform Organizations
Michael Marquardt - President of WIAL
In 1995, Reg Revans - the father of Action Learning and the co-founder Michael Marquardt established the World Institute for Action Learning (WIAL) after several years’ exploration and research. And they promote global understanding and application of Action Learning in organizations through theoretical research, coaching, certifications, conferences, and other initiatives.
As the master in Action Learning across the world, Michael shared with us on the spot about Action Learning’s huge benefits to both companies and individuals, such as solving the current important and urgent problems, cultivating team leadership, establishing the learning organization… Today, Action Learning has helped most renowned companies and institutions (including United Nations Environmental Program, Sony Music, Downer Construction, Toyota and PepsiCo) to improve organizational performance and effectively solve problems.
Crises in Leadership
Garry Luxmoore - President of WIAL Australia and Marketing Director of WIAL
We are in front of a real problem – the approaching leadership crises! Many CEOs say that, in future the situation will be increasingly complex. In the complex turbulent times, the traditional leading method will turn in vain, and we need to review leadership and directly face crises in leadership.
Nowadays, many different leadership programs on the market usually have this or that defect: The acquisition of knowledge cannot compensate the defects in action. In general, teaching focuses on case study, it stimulates situation but deviates from actuality, neglects the importance of question and introspection, and is in short of the mutual learning’s features. Therefore, trainings for the real leadership are indeed rare. Suppose that at the same time we can solve the urgent and important problems, develop the critical leading skills, break down barriers among individuals, rapidly improve communication while facilitating study, will this process be amazingly attractive? This is what Action Learning brings to us.
